Description:

6-fluoroindane-1-carboxylic acid is a synthetic compound with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It has been used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other drugs, such as sulindac. 6-fluoroindane-1-carboxylic acid binds to the coagulation protein factor Xa and inhibits its activity, which leads to reduced blood clotting. The structure of this compound contains a six member ring system that includes a carboxylic acid group. 6FIAA is a good candidate for use in the treatment of osteoarthritis because it also has analgesic properties.
