Product Information
6-Fluoropyridoxamine 5'-Phosphate (FPP) is a fluorescent derivative of pyridoxamine. It is a protonated, tautomeric form of the chromophore predominately found in the cytosol. The fluorescent properties of FPP are due to the presence of fluorine and carboxylate groups, which have been shown to be protonated at physiological pH levels. This compound has been used as a probe for the detection of phosphorylated proteins in vivo and in vitro. FPP has also been used as a substrate for enzymes that catalyze reactions involving phosphoric acid or hydroxyl groups.
