Description:
4-Fluoro-5-methoxy-2-nitroaniline is a potent proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It inhibits the production of gastric acid by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system. This agent has shown potent activity against the PPI resistant strain of Helicobacter pylori. 4-Fluoro-5-methoxy-2-nitroaniline has been found to have sulfinyl analogues that are potent inhibitors of this enzyme system and can also inhibit adenosine uptake in human erythrocytes.
