Description:

4-Fluoronaphtalene-1-boronic acid (4FNB) is a boronic acid that is used in cross-coupling reactions for the synthesis of organic compounds. 4FNB reacts with electron donors such as an alcohol, amine, or thiol to form an ester or ether respectively. The reaction is selective and can be conducted under mild conditions. 4FNB has been used to synthesize pinacol esters, which are useful reagents for the formation of pinacol carbonates and pinacols. It has also been used as a sensing probe in fluorescence imaging.
