Product Information
(4-Fluoro-Benzoylamino)-Acetic Acid is an active metabolite of flupirtine, a drug used to treat central nervous system disorders. This compound has been found in urine samples and is thought to be the active form of flupirtine. (4-Fluoro-Benzoylamino)-Acetic Acid is soluble in water and can be extracted from urine with this solvent. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on rat liver microsomes, which are responsible for the metabolism of drugs. It also inhibits uptake by human liver cells in vitro, but does not affect uptake by human brain cells. The matrix effect, which is the difference between results obtained in vitro and those obtained in vivo, may explain these results.
