Product Information
N-(2-Fluoro-4-nitrophenyl)acetamide is a potent cytotoxic agent that inhibits the growth of intracellular amastigotes and extracellular promastigotes of Leishmania species. It has been shown to be effective against mouse peritoneal macrophages, which are cells that phagocytose foreign materials. This compound also influences the parameters of glucantime, an antileishmanial drug. These results suggest N-(2-fluoro-4-nitrophenyl)acetamide may be a useful coadjuvant therapy for human leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania major or L. mexicana.
