Product Information
- Butanamide, N-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-oxo-
- N-(4-Fluoro-phenyl)-3-oxo-butyramide
N-(4-Fluorophenyl)-3-Oxo-Butanamide is a molecule that inhibits the bacterial enzyme subtilisin by forming an intermolecular hydrogen bond with the active site. The antibacterial activity of this molecule is comparable to that of erythromycin. N-(4-Fluorophenyl)-3-Oxo-Butanamide also has antitubercular activity, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. This drug has been shown to have cytotoxic properties in vitro, but its efficacy in vivo has not yet been studied. It is believed that disruption of hydrogen bonds may be responsible for the cytotoxic effect.
