Description:

6-(1-Fluoroethyl)-4(1H)-pyrimidinone (6FP) is a carboxylic ester that is used in insecticides, acaricides and nematicides. It has been used as a reaction solvent for formamidine acetate and it reacts with methanol to produce formamidine. Formamidine can be methylated to form 6-methylformamidine, which is a microbicide for the control of fungi and bacteria. 6FP is also an intermediate in the synthesis of aminopyridine.
