Description

N-(7-Fluoro-9H-fluoren-2-yl)acetamide (NFA) is a potent inhibitor of amine uptake. It has been shown to inhibit the development of carcinomas in rats when administered intraperitoneally, and to inhibit the development of mammary carcinomas when administered subcutaneously. NFA inhibits rat primary bladder tumor growth by inhibiting DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. It also shows an inhibitory effect on human mammary carcinomas in tissue culture. NFA may have anticancer activity through its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and cell proliferation, as well as its ability to inhibit amine uptake.
