Description:
2-Fluoro-4-isocyanato-1-methylbenzene (2FIAB) is a selective peroxisome proliferator activated receptor δ (PPARδ) agonist. 2FIAB has been shown to be effective in the treatment of dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis in humans. It binds to PPARδ, which is found mainly in the liver and adipose tissue, leading to the activation of transcription factors, such as Pparα and Pparγ. This leads to an increase in the expression of genes that are involved in lipid metabolism. 2FIAB also has a relatively high selectivity for PPARδ as it does not bind to PPARα or PPARγ subtypes.
