Description

2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-N-Methylsuccinimide (FPMS) is a drug that is used to treat diabetes. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the cells that line blood vessels in the pancreas and helps to control glucose levels in the body. FPMS has been shown to be effective for diabetic patients with high blood pressure, kidney disease, or a history of heart disease. FPMS may also be used as an analog of succinimide, which is used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical production. FPMS has been found to have a low toxicity and low reactivity with other compounds. This compound can also be used as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inhibitor in diagnostic applications because it inhibits the activity of DNA polymerases that are essential for viral replication.
