Description

3-Fluoro-4-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride is a selective inhibitor of β-glucosidase, and it inhibits the activity of this enzyme by reversibly binding to the sulfhydryl group in the active site. It has been shown to inhibit histamine release from human leukocytes and mast cells in vitro. 3-Fluoro-4-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride has also been shown to inhibit histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells. This drug is chemically related to other inhibitors of β-glucosidase, such as benzenesulfonyl fluoride and benzylsulfonyl fluoride.
