3'-O-(5-fluoro-2,4-dinitrophenyl)ATP is a substrate for pepsin and has an affinity for the active site of ATPase. It is a reagent that can be used in the laboratory to measure ATPase activity by measuring the release of ADP from ATP. 3'-O-(5-fluoro-2,4-dinitrophenyl)ATP is also an intermediate in the synthesis of radiolabeled ATP analogs and a reagent for labeling other proteins with affinity for ATP. Radiolabeled 3'-O-(5-fluoro-2,4-dinitrophenyl)ATP can be used as a substrate in assays to measure mitochondrial ATPase activity or to determine the subunit composition of mitochondrial ATPases. The average specific activity of 3'-O-(5-fluoro-2,4-dinitrophenyl)ATP is approximately 0.8 m
