Description

2-Fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl bromide is an agonist for macrophage receptors. It induces the expression of genes that are involved in lipid metabolism and cholesterol transport, such as ABCA1 and MDR1. This compound has been shown to be selective for macrophages and liver cells, with little effect on other cell types. 2-Fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl bromide showed a dose-dependent increase in gene expression of these two genes at concentrations of 2 μM and 10 μM, respectively.
