Product Information
Fluorophenylalanine (2'-fluoro-alpha-Methyl-4-Biphenylacetic Acid) is a fluorinated analogue of phenylalanine. It is used as a diagnostic agent to measure the levels of growth hormone and to assess the nature, equivalence, and diameter of the thyroid gland. Fluorophenylalanine has been shown to be insensitive to cognitive deficits in patients with dementia. It has also been shown to have linear growth curves that are independent of evaporation rates. This drug can be administered by injection or orally. It is used for the diagnosis of age-related disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Fluorophenylalanine binds to homeobox genes and alters their function.
