2-Fluoro-N-Methyl-N-Naphthalen-1-Yl-Acetamide (2FMNYA) is a horticultural agent with detergent compositions. 2FMNYA has been shown to be toxic to animals at high doses. The toxicity of 2FMNYA was examined in rats and mice by measuring the effects on physiological levels, and the chemical stability of this compound was studied by synthesis methods such as soluble guanylate cyclase activity, fat cell weight, and ryanodine receptor binding. It has also been shown to have fat cell reducing properties.
2FMNYA is a plant growth regulator that belongs to the class of fatty acid hydroxylases which are enzymes involved in energy metabolism. This compound can convert long chain fatty acids into shorter chain fatty acids, which may be useful in decreasing obesity.
