Product Information
- Methanesulfonic Acid, 1-(Methylsulfonyl)-, 2-Fluoroethyl Ester
2-Fluoroethyl (methylsulfonyl)methanesulfonate is a potent chemical that inhibits DNA synthesis by cross-linking dna, which leads to the destruction of cells. It has been shown to be equitoxic to both normal and cancer cells. 2-Fluoroethyl (methylsulfonyl)methanesulfonate is detectable in thymus tissue at concentrations of 1.0 μM and crosses the blood-brain barrier in mice. This chemical has been shown to inhibit DNA synthesis in experimental cell culture studies with l1210 cells, but it was not as effective against elution or cross-linking.
