Description

2-(1-Fluoropropan-2-Ylamino)-1-Phenylpropan-1-Ol is a low affinity, substituent imaging ligand that binds to the norepinephrine transporter protein. It has been used in positron emission tomography (PET) studies of the heart and was found to be an effective marker of cardiac sympathetic nerve activity. This ligand is not very selective for norepinephrine, as it also binds to other proteins including dopamine and serotonin transporters, as well as non-transporter proteins. 2-(1-Fluoropropan-2-Ylamino)-1-Phenylpropan-1-Ol can be used as an analog of norephedrine and has been shown to decrease protein synthesis.
