[(4-Fluorophenyl)(Isopropyl)Amino](Oxo)Acetic Acid (FPAA) is a hydrophobic compound that has been used as a food additive. It has been found to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeasts. FPAA is also used as a pesticide and analytical reagent. It has been shown that FPAA can be metabolized in animals and humans by various routes, including deamination or decarboxylation to produce methyl formate or oxalic acid.
