(1R,2S)-2-Fluorocyclopropanamine is an antimicrobial agent. It is a synthetic molecule with a skeleton that includes a vinyl acetate group and a benzyl group. The compound has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. (1R,2S)-2-Fluorocyclopropanamine can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of the antibiotic sitafloxacin.
This product inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication.
