2-[2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1H-Indol-3-Yl]-N,N-Dihexylacetamide is a drug that belongs to the class of benzodiazepine receptor ligands. It has been shown to have anxiolytic properties in vivo and to decrease serotonin reuptake. Benzodiazepines are used as treatments for anxiety disorders and depression. They work by increasing the effect of the neurotransmitter GABA on the central nervous system. 2-[2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1H-Indol-3-Yl]-N,N-Dihexylacetamide also has analgesic effects, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
