Description

(2E)-2-(Fluoromethylidene)-4-(4-fluorophenyl)butan-1-amine (FLUMA) is a synthetic drug that has been shown to be an inhibitor of dopamine degradative enzymes, including DSP-4. FLUMA is used in the treatment of cancer, bowel disease and autoimmune diseases. The drug inhibits the synthesis of proteins that are not essential for life, such as those involved in inflammatory bowel disease. FLUMA also has been shown to have no effect on dopamine levels in rat striatal tissue, which means it is unlikely to cause Parkinson's disease.
