(4-Fluorophenyl)(Diphenyl)Sulfonium Trifluoromethanesulfonate is a methacrylate that initiates the polymerization of acrylic acid and other unsaturated monomers. It is also used to initiate radical polymerization, photopolymerization, and radical crosslinking reactions. The molecular weight of (4-fluorophenyl)(diphenyl)sulfonium trifluoromethanesulfonate can be determined by measuring the light absorption at 230 nm using a high-performance liquid chromatography system. It has been shown to have linear correlations with polymers in a range of molecular weights. This compound may also be used for UV-induced polymerizations or radiation initiated polymerizations.
