Description

6-Fluoro-4-oxo-7-piperazin-1-Yl-1H-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. It binds to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. 6Fluoro-4oxo-7piperazin-1yl 1H quinoline 3 carboxylic acid has been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium perfringens. The pharmacokinetic properties of 6Fluoro 4 oxo 7 piperazin 1 yl 1 H quinoline 3 carboxylic acid have been studied in healthy male volunteers.
