Description:

2-Fluorobenzoylacetonitrile is a parenteral anti-inflammatory agent that inhibits the production of prostaglandins. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. 2-Fluorobenzoylacetonitrile is a cationic, anti-inflammatory agent with an inhibitory effect on arthritic inflammation. The mechanism of action is not known, but it may be due to inhibition of cyclooxygenase or lipoxygenase enzymes. This drug is also used in mixtures with other drugs such as salicylates or corticosteroids to treat inflammation.
