Description

5-Fluoro-1-(oxolan-2-yl)pyrimidine-2,4-dione is a cytotoxic agent that is used in the treatment of colorectal cancer and metastatic colorectal cancer. 5-Fluoro-1-(oxolan-2-yl)pyrimidine-2,4-dione binds to DNA replication enzymes such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), inhibiting the synthesis of new DNA strands. This drug has been shown to be an effective adjuvant therapy for patients with colon adenocarcinoma. 5fluoro-1-(Oxolan-2-Yl)Pyrimidine-2,4Dione inhibits the growth of colorectal cancer cells by binding to their DNA and preventing it from replicating.
