N-(4-Fluorophenyl)-6-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]-2-pyridinecarboxamide is an herbicide that inhibits the growth of plants. It inhibits the enzyme acylation reaction, which is necessary for the synthesis of fatty acids in plant cells. This herbicide has been shown to be effective against weeds such as Picolinic acid and Triazolopyrimidine. N-(4-Fluorophenyl)-6-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]-2-Pyridinecarboxamide has also been found to be synergistically with other herbicides such as Benzalkonium chloride, in vitro assays have shown it to have a film-forming polymer that can form a protective coating on plants, and kinetic energy analysis has shown it to be stable in water.
