Niravoline is a fatty acid ester that has shown to reduce blood pressure. No other therapeutic effects are known. Niravoline is a polymeric matrix of fatty acids and fatty alcohols that have been shown to inhibit the inflammatory response in autoimmune diseases in rats. It may also help with cirrhosis, as it inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by blocking kappa-opioid receptors.
