Description

Galnon trifluoroacetate salt is a pharmacological agent that binds to galanin and inhibits its binding to G protein-coupled receptors. It was shown to have a cancer preventive effect on 3T3-L1 preadipocytes by inhibiting the production of the inflammatory cytokine, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Galnon trifluoroacetate salt also has an effect on the immune system and may be used as an anti-inflammatory agent in autoimmune diseases. This drug has been shown to block the effects of galanin on camp levels, leading to a decrease in locomotor activity.
