Z-Gln-ONp is a dione that has been synthesized by the reaction of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde and hydroxy group. The molecule contains a functional group, which can be used for further synthesis. The dione is synthesized in two steps, first the nitrobenzaldehyde is reacted with an alkoxycarbonyl to form an intermediate and then the intermediate reacts with a hydroxyl group to form Z-Gln-ONp. The physicochemical properties of this molecule have been determined using various physicochemical methods such as IR, NMR, and MS.
