Geranyl pyrophosphate tris ammonium salt (GPTA) is a naturally occurring compound that has been found to have anti-cancer properties. GPTA is able to induce apoptosis in tumor cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis and inducing cell cycle arrest, which may be due to GPTA's ability to bind to the enzyme topoisomerase 1.
