Glyodin is a growth regulator that inhibits the expression of genes involved in fatty acid and lipid metabolism. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, which may be due to its ability to inhibit nitric oxide production. Glyodin has been shown to inhibit the replication of influenza virus by interfering with the neuraminidase enzyme. This product is used as an agrochemical for controlling weeds and pests in horticultural crops. Glyodin has also been shown to have crystalline polymorphs, which are different crystal forms of a chemical compound. The crystal form influences the biological properties of glyodin.
