Product Information
- Tetradecanoic acid 2-oxiranylmethyl esterGlycidyl tetradecanoateMyristic acid glycidyl ester
Glycidyl myristate is a fatty acid ester that is prepared by the reaction of an alcohol with a polycarboxylic acid. It can be used as a plasticizer, antioxidant, or stabilizer in various polymers and resins. Glycidyl myristate is also used as a raw material for the preparation of polymeric surfactants. The chemical composition of glycidyl myristate includes one hydroxyl group and one molecule of fatty acid ester, which are attached to the same polycarboxylic acid chain. The molecular weight ranges from 300 to 600 g/mol, with a melting point ranging from 40 to 60 °C. Glycidyl myristate has been shown to have excellent stability in phase liquid chromatography (LC) chemical analysis methods and is not reactive with oxygen.
