Product Information
Gadoversetamide is a gadolinium-based contrast agent used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to enhance the visibility of blood vessels and other structures. It is administered intravenously, and its absorption rate is increased by administration with an acid complex. Gadoversetamide has been shown to have clinical relevance for the evaluation of nephrology dialysis, human serum, maternal blood, and excretory organs. It is also used to measure glomerular filtration rate. Studies have shown that gadoversetamide binds with high affinity to extracellular or intracellular iron ions in the body’s tissues. This binding results in a decrease in myocardial infarct size and improved cardiac function following a myocardial infarct.
