Gibberellin A7 is a polyunsaturated sodium salt that is used in plant physiology. It is an agonist of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein, which regulates photosynthetic activity and biosynthesis of fatty acids. Gibberellin A7 also has been shown to have antitumor properties and to be active against C. glabrata, a fungus that causes skin lesions in immunocompromised patients. The antimicrobial activity and mode of action of Gibberellin A7 are unknown.
