H-glu-OMe is a fatty acid that belongs to the group of amino acids. It has been reported as an intermediate in the chemical ligation of carboxylates with amines. H-glu-OMe has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on serine proteases such as trypsin and chymotrypsin, which are enzymes that break down proteins in the human body. The effects of this compound on insulin levels in diabetes patients have also been studied. H-glu-OMe is not active against acid-fast bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex, but it does show an inhibitory effect on congestive heart failure when combined with L-arginine.
