Product Information
Gomisin D is a natural product that belongs to the class of protocatechuic acid. It has been used in China for more than 2000 years as a drug for treating deficiency type diseases, such as lack of qi, yin and blood. Gomisin D is an active ingredient extracted from Cimicifuga foetida, Astragali radix and Protocatechuic acid. It has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties in vitro with an elimination half-life of about 2 hours. The main route of metabolism is hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases with metabolites being eliminated mainly through the urine or bile. Gomisin D can be detected in the serum and plasma for up to 3 days after administration.
