Product Information
Guanosine 5'-(gamma-fluorotriphosphate) is a nucleotide that is involved in the hydrolysis of ATP. The catalytic activity of GTPase is an important factor in the activation energy for hydrolysis, which can be determined by kinetic studies. When magnesium ions are added to the reaction solution, the GTPase becomes more active. Guanosine 5'-(gamma-fluorotriphosphate) has been shown to have a constant sedimentation coefficient, which may be due to its hydroxyl group and fluorine atom. This nucleotide has been shown to inhibit guanine nucleotide binding in vitro and this inhibition may be competitively based on postulated models.
