Product Information
- 2-Pyridinol, 3,5,6-trifluoro-
2-Hydroxy-3,5,6-trifluoropyridine is a labile molecule that can be functionalized with benzoic acid. It has been used in multicomponent strategies to generate a surrogate for the more reactive 1,4-benzoquinone. The 2-hydroxy group of this compound is labile and can react with various electrophiles. The 3,5,6-trifluoro substituents are electron withdrawing and enhance its stability in air. These substituents also confer a high degree of solubility in organic solvents such as chloroform. This functionalized molecule undergoes reactions at the benzoic acid moiety to form aminobenzoates and benzenesulfonates.
