4'-Hydroxy-2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone is a solvent that is used in the production of perfumes and other fragrances. It is also used as a cosolvent and surrogate for solvents such as heptane, ligand for naphthols, and fluorophore. This chemical has no toxicity and can be recycled with methanol. 4'-Hydroxy-2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone is nonpolar and soluble in nonpolar solvents such as heptane.
