Product Information

Name:
1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazol-3-ium;hexafluorophosphate
Description:

1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazol-3-ium;hexafluorophosphate is a cationic surfactant that has optical properties that are similar to those of human urine. It is used in wastewater treatment as a coagulant, flocculant, and corrosion inhibitor. 1-Hexadecyl-3-methylimidazol-3-ium;hexafluorophosphate can be produced by the reaction of 2-methoxycinnamic acid with hexafluoro phosphoric acid. The synthesis method is titration calorimetry, photocatalytic activity, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. 1HEMIHF has been shown to be an efficient chloride corrosion inhibitor and can be used as a microscopy functional theory or structural analysis model system.
