Product Information
- 2H-1-benzopyran-2-one
- 7-hydroxy-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-
7-Hydroxy-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-2H-chromen-2-one is a planar, coplanar, and asymmetric molecule that contains a benzene ring and a coumarin ring. It has been synthesized in the lab by reacting 4-nitrophenol with 3,5-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The molecule was crystallized using x-ray diffraction and found to be dihedral. 7-Hydroxy-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-2H-chromen-2-one shows hydrogen bonding interactions between its phenolic groups and the neighboring -NH group of the coumarin ring.
