Description:

1-(Hydroxymethyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione is a chemical that belongs to the group of diphenyl ethers. It is an active methylene with a hydroxy group and a hydrochloric acid group in its structure. 1-(Hydroxymethyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of benzyl groups. The reaction product of this chemical with hydroxyl groups or reactive basic proteins can be an iminodiimino indoline. This process is facilitated by the presence of a fatty acid on the indole ring. The chemical stability of 1-(hydroxymethyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione has not yet been determined.
