Description

1-Hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid - 90% is a drug that can be used to treat bone cancer. It is a strong inhibitor of the enzyme lysyl oxidase, which converts lysine to hydroxylysine. The optimum concentration for this drug is between 0.2 and 2 mM. 1-Hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid - 90% has been shown to have antiarthritic effects in an experimental model of arthritis in rats. This drug also has an effect on metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus by regulating the activity of enzymes involved in glucose metabolism.
