(2R,3R,4S,5R)-2-(6-((2-Hydroxyethyl)amino)-9H-purin-9-yl)-5-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydrofuran-3,4-diol (also known as 6-(2-(2'-hydroxyethoxy)ethylamino)-9H-purin-9-ol or Adoxostat), is an organic compound that belongs to the family of purine analogues. It is a potent antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties. The compound inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by scavenging free radicals and by inhibiting the activity of enzymes involved in ROS production.
