Product Information
5-Hydroxyuracil is a pyrimidine nucleoside that is found in the body. It is synthesized from uracil by hydroxylation at the 5 position. The x-ray diffraction analysis of 5-hydroxyuracil has been carried out and the results obtained unambiguously show that this molecule possesses a chain structure with an acyclic configuration. The structural elucidation of 5-hydroxyuracil was made possible by x-ray diffraction analysis, which revealed a crystal form of this compound. The molecular weight of 5-hydroxyuracol is 238.19 daltons and it has a molecular formula of C5H4N2O3.
