Description:
2-Hydroxy-4'-methoxyacetophenone is a colorless solid that is soluble in acetone, chloroform, and ether. It has an optical rotation of +14° to +16°. 2-Hydroxy-4'-methoxyacetophenone can be synthesized from acetoxybenzene and hydroxylamine. This compound is used as a precursor for the synthesis of ruthenium tetraoxide and acetates.
