Product Information
2-Hydroxy-4-iodobenzaldehyde is an intermediate in the synthesis of a variety of pharmacologic agents. It can be synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction from 2-chloro-4,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and iodomethane. This compound can be immobilized on a solid support for use in Suzuki coupling reactions. 2-Hydroxy-4-iodobenzaldehyde has been used as a reagent for the preparation of nitro, proton, amines, and intramolecular hydrogen compounds. The cytosolic enzyme carbonic anhydrase catalyzes the conversion of CO2 to bicarbonate ion (HCO3-) and H+. The fluorescence properties of this compound have been characterized using fluorescent compounds and optical properties such as its emission spectrum.
