Description:

2-Hydrazino-2-imidazoline hydrobromide is an organic ligand that has been used to study the interaction of metal ions with thiolates. The ligand contains a hydrazine group and a 2-imidazoline group. The coligand binds to molybdate through its pyridine nitrogen and to thiolate through its 2-hydrazino group. This binding is reversible, and the ligand is able to elute from the metal ion in aqueous solution with an organic solvent. A reaction solution containing this ligand will produce anions and cations in a radiopharmaceutical that can be detected by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
