Description:

3-Hydroxyglutaronitrile is a chiral molecule that is synthesized by asymmetric synthesis. The active site of the enzyme is located on the surface of the protein, where it binds to the substrate and catalyzes the reaction. The optimum temperature for this reaction is between 30°C and 40°C, with a yield of 95%. This compound has been shown to inhibit cholesterol synthesis in vitro at low concentrations and can be used as an intermediate in reductive amination reactions. 3-Hydroxyglutaronitrile may also be immobilized onto a solid support for use in organic solvent kinetic reactions.
